Don’t worry about cool, make your own uncool.

Don’t worry about cool, make your own uncool.
…everything comes out of the work itself – every idea comes out of something you’re already doing.
…color as form, form as color. Not independent, but inseparable.
The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.

“If you sang ‘John Henry’ as many times as me — ‘John Henry was a steel-driving man, driving with a hammer in his hand, John Henry said a man ain’t nothing but a man,’ – If you sang that song as many times as I did, you would have written ‘How many roads must a man walk down,’ too.”
My preference for clear structures is the result of my desire, perhaps illusory, to keep track of things and maintain my grip on the world.
I’m very interested in the uncanny and a way of looking to find something mysterious or terrible within everyday life.
I awoke to a little bit of snow in the mountains this morning. Can’t wait for the snow blanketed evenings and the rich colors they can bring.
Again, I see my work as a dialogue, a conversation between what was and what is.
A colour should turn back into itself. It should reveal itself to you while, at the same time, it evades you.
